We had planned a quiet weekend hanging out at home. All our plans were pretty much for naught.
Friday night we headed out to happy hour and had cocktails, oysters (and oyster shooters) and random small plates at a local vietnamese place. Very yummy and a nice evening out. Once we arrived home we watched our new netflix DVD.
Saturday morning we headed out to buy veggies, which I posted about yesterday. A few hours later friends invited us to BBQ and live music at Micha’s in San Carlos. The band was really pretty good and were clearly having a lot of fun. The food was pretty good BBQ, mostly pork with a little chicken. All in all, a fun evening.
Today, we decided, we were just going to hang out at home. Then we changed our minds and headed out to the Los Altos art and wine fair. We wandered around a while, then found a place to sit down and have a drink. Fiesta Vallarta had some very yummy Mexican food, tasty margaritas and a floor show behind the bar.
I also bought a new necklace with matching earrings from one of the vendors. It’s really lovely.
Once we got home, I fired up the grill and made pork chops and grilled corn. Fresh tomato and basil salad rounded out our meal. I’m feeling very relaxed. It wasn’t the hide-in-the-house weekend I had planned, but it was very good.
Grover is doing well. He really hates the antibiotic, but he’s being very good and taking his dose without struggling. He’s such a good cat, I feel horrible doing something to him that’s clearly icky and dreadful. We have worked out a routine, though. I tell him it’s time for meds and pick him up. Then we go upstairs into the guest bathroom, where he sits on the counter and gets his dose. After that, I pet him and tell him what a good boy he is. Then it’s downstairs for treats. He’s so good.
Tomorrow I have jury duty. I am supposed to call the courthouse between 11:15 and 11:45 to find out if they need me. Woot.
