Best sour cream ever

Steve made a really awesome chili tonight. It was a bit warm so we decided we needed a little dairy to go with it. I headed up to Mi Pueblo for sour cream. Instead of getting something pre-packaged, I got fresh crema from their deli counter.

Wow. I get now why people like plain sour cream. This is just yummy, yummy stuff. Thick and creamy with just the right amount of acid. It was the perfect accompaniment to a spicy earthy chili.

I also picked up a ripe avocado and made some guacamole.

1 avocado, mashed
juice of one lime (more or less)
2 tbsp of minced onion
6 grape tomatoes, 1/4 inch dice
1 tsp of minced cilantro
salt to taste

Mix all ingredients. Serve.

I have added both cumin and chili powder to the guacamole in the past, but tonight I didn’t. This was cooling and refreshing when eaten with the chili.

Did I mention that the fresh Mexican Crema was out of this world tasty?
