We recently refinanced the home from our original variable rate mortgage to a fixed rate. I just got the paperwork back from the bank and they actually sent me the originals.
I’m really kinda surprised that Chase, of all places, still maintained the original paperwork and could find it. There are also all sorts of interesting notations on some of it, different numbers and stuff.
Kinda fascinating. But apparently our mortgage wasn’t one sliced and diced into a billion pieces. Or maybe it was. But in any case, they had the full docs, and now I do.
Also in the mail today: a scam for paying our loan off faster! From someone totally unaffiliated with our mortgage company.
